Everyone celebrating Janesville moms will get a few opportunities the Saturday before Mother’s Day. These will include biking, running, and shopping.
The Velo Club will be hosting a community Family Bike Fest. Here, the focus will be on learning basic bicycling skills and getting an introduction to our local bike path system. There will be a demonstration by Velo Club Mountain Bike Team and group bike rides consisting of various speeds and distances. More than 10 exhibitors will be selling, advertising and distributing coupons, Promotional Products, and Business Cards relating to bikes and bicycling.
For those who enjoy walking and running for a good cause, the KANDU Run, Walk & Roll will be a race without limits. This race will have varying distances and speeds, and participants can opt for the 1 mile run or the 5K.
For a more sedate event, The Mother’s Day Expo will keep the little ones entertained with games and prizes while Mom gets a complementary glass of champagne while meandering through over 40 vendor and local crafter booths.
Family Bike Fest will take place from 9:00 am until noon at Harrison Elementary School, 760 Princeton Avenue.
The KANDU Run, Walk & Roll will also start at 9:00 am at 1741 Adel Street, KANDU’s Parking lot.
Mother’s Day Expo will be 11:00 am until 5:00 pm at the Janesville Conference Center at the Holiday Inn Express, 3100 Wellington Place.
These events will be Saturday, May 12.
