Janesville youth are busily getting ready for the upcoming Rock County 4-H Fair.
This will be six days of animal shows, air-powered launches, bicycle tours, contests and animal judging during what will be the 89th year for the event.
The horse show will kick things off the first day. The pony show takes the stage the second day and the third day will be dedicated to small engines and air powered rocket launch. The bicycle tour at Lions Beach comes next. Then the sale arena will host the Swine Carcass contest the following day, and the 4-H judging starts on Tuesday.
‘Faircrows’ designed and built by local businesses and organizations in division 1 and by individuals and families in division 2 will be entered in the Faircrows Contest. Winners will be decided by fairgoer voting, and winners will surely be taking pictures of their scarecrows to local Print shops for poster printing.
The North American Midway Entertainment Carnival will be in operation Tuesday through Sunday. Wristbands will be available.
Live entertainment will be on the Grandstand Wednesday through Sunday. Performers include Mark Chesnutt, Asia featuring John Payne, Lanco and Dylan Scott. The stage will also feature a tractor operators contest and a dog agility show. Rice Company Bull Riding will be the final program.
Rock County 4-H Fair will be July 24 through 29 at the Rock County 4-H Fair Inc., 1301 Craig Ave. Gates open at 7:00 am and close at 11:00 pm.
