Many Janesville cyclists are gearing up for the Janesville Town Square Gran Prix coming in mid-June.
This criterium-style bicycle race will be the first of the eleven-day competitive road cycling Tour of America's Dairyland Series 2025. More than 3,000 spectators, many watching from offices, roofs and along the sidewalks, will be able to see the 500 racers run the criterium races as they race in laps around a closed .8-mile course. Prizes will go to lap and overall winners.
The course will begin at the intersection of Franklin and Milwaukee streets, turning south onto Jackson Street, then east onto Court Street, north onto South Water Street and west onto Milwaukee, ending back at the start/finish line.
Races will begin at 11:00 am and will include novice, 2, 3, and 4 riding levels for both men and women, handcycling, and professional women and men 75-minute rides in the evening.
The Kids Roll will take place between the pro rides at 6:15 pm. Rides will be .2-mile .6-mile and .8 mile according to age.
Spectators at events such as this occasionally get some banner printing done to display Banners supporting their favorite riders.
The Janesville Town Square Gran Prix will take place June 19th in Downtown Janesville's Town Square, 65 S. River Street, from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm.
