Over the next few weeks, several days in Janesville will allow people to spend quality time with their pets.
From now until October 28, Janesville cats – domestic or otherwise – can enter in the Janesville Cat Club Cat Show.
Entry fees will range from $48 for first registration, $42 for second and $35 for all others. The limit of entries has been set at 200. This one-day event will have six rings of judging going on at one time.
The Janesville Cat show will be November 2 at the Rock County Fairgrounds Craig Center, 301 Craig Avenue from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.
Many health enthusiasts and runners will be lacing up their sneakers and getting their dogs ready to run the Festival Foods Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.
The five-mile run will be timed, and the two-mile one will be a walk/run. The walk/run will be open to participants of all abilities and ages. A Dog Jog will be a two-mile jaunt for runners and their pooches.
The venue will ring in the season with music and participants will receive long-sleeved shirts and free pumpkin pies.
The Janesville Turkey Trot will be Thursday, November 28 at Craig High School, 401 South Randall Avenue.
Pet owners that enter their furry friends in events such as these often have pictures of themselves and their pets participating in the festivities. Many take the photos to local Stationery printers to be made into Holiday Cards or included as one of the monthly pictures in family Calendars.
