Thanks to Velocity Multi-Sport & Cycling and O-Riley & Conway's Irish Pub, many Janesville runners and walkers will be able to sign up for the St. Patrick's Janesville Shamrock 5k and 10k Run/Walk, coming in mid-March.
The 5k will cost $35 and will go north alongside Rock River, beginning across from Taxler Park. The 10k will cost $35 and will also begin here, going north to a 3-mile turn around marker and back to Janesville. The Janesville Shamrock Shuffle 1-Mile Family Walk will cost $35 and will begin on North Franklin and East Milwaukee Street, before heading east on East Milwaukee Street, turning north to go beside the river, and ending on the Ice-Age-National-Scenic Trail.
Those that register before March 1st are guaranteed T-shirts sporting the event's graphic design.
Check-in will be from 9:45am to 10:15am on Race Day at O'Riley & Conway's, 214 W Milwaukee Street. All races will begin at 10:30am, and the event should wind down around noon.
Finisher medals will go to the first 300 to finish the 10k.
All proceeds from the event will go to the local Boys and Girls Club of Janesville. This year's donation goal is $2000. A beer tent with bands will be at the 10k finish line for runners to redeem their one-drink tickets.
The Janesville Shuffle will take place on Saturday, March 16.
