Janesville celebrates freedom with fest

From 5,000 to 30,000 people are expected to attend Freedom Fest at the end of June. This is traditionally one of the biggest free family-friendly events in Janesville.

Entertainment will be provided by Sidewalk Prophets at 7:30 pm, Jeff Deyo at 6:15 pm , Flame at 4:45 pm, Joshua Calhoun at 4:00 pm, and Daniel Olsson at 3:30 pm.

Food will be available at affordable prices and attendees can bring their own.

Form 11:00 am until 2:00 pm the fest will hold its annual Day of Compassion. This will be free health services and information offered by Mercyhealth and veteran services, family portraits, haircuts, and clothing give-a-ways. Groceries will also be distributed.

Events such as this usually spur someone to get some flyer printing done and put up Flyers around town.

A children’s area will include face painting, a corn crib, bouncy houses, an obstacle course and balloon animals.

Free carnival rides from Mr. Ed’s Magical Midway will offer rides with names like Orient Express roller coaster, Up Up Away, Typhoon, Tilt-A-whirl, Century Wheel, Skymaster and AliBaba. There will also be a Super Slide, Berry-Go-Round and the Infernal Combustion experience.

Freedom Fest will be Saturday, June 29th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm at New Life Assembly of God, 2416 North Wright Road.

Everyone will want to stick around for the fireworks display.
