The 'Great American Backyard Campout' is coming to Janesville, giving families the chance to spend quality time together.
During the campout, families can enjoy hot dogs, swimming, a nature walk, and children’s activities. A tent decorating contest and athletic competitions will also keep everyone busy. At night, families will be treated to a movie and can also chat around the bonfire.
Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the event is designed to families together, while also hoping to encourage children to enjoy the outdoors and appreciate nature.
The campout will be held at Rockport Park, located at 2801 Rockport Road. The spacious park has scenic trails, a playground, bathrooms, and many other amenities.
Campers can check in from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm on June 28 and check out on June 29 at 10:00 am. The cost is $20 per site for one tent and $10 for an additional tent. There is a two-tent maximum per site, and tents and other camping supplies are not included in the registration. In order to hold the event, at least 10 families will need to register.
The City of Janesville offers many family-friendly events during the summer. No doubt the event organizers have asked Print companies to make Flyers to distribute to the community.
