Two Janesville area outdoor events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks.
One will be a charity golf tournament for Janesville Youth Hockey, a non-profit organization, which will be presenting its 2021 J-Hawk Scramble in a couple of weeks. The second will be the Peace Trail 25 K Time Trial for cyclists.
The event will have a lunch banquet, door prizes, raffles, contests on the course, and hole prizes, along with the 18-hole scramble.
Individual registration will be $85 and includes breakfast and lunch. Tickets for foursomes including the two meals are $340. Tickets for lunch only are also available on the J-Hawk website for $20. Proceeds from the event will go towards equipment, coaching, and other club financial needs.
The J-Hawk Scramble will take place August 14 at the Prairie Woods Golf Course, 12601 E. County Road A, Avalon. The event will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:00 am, before a shotgun start at 9:00 am.
Also, the Peace Trail 2nd Annual 25K Time Trial will be an out-and-back course from Afton to Hanover. Cyclists will leave the starting line at one-minute intervals and prizes will go to the top three male and female finishers.
Entry is $25 and comes with event T-shirts sporting this year’s event Logo Design. It will take place on Sunday, August 29, starting at 10:00 am on 1st Street in Afton.
