Good and evil clash at Superhero Run

Janesville locals can run and have fun while supporting a good cause.

The Superhero Fun Run is an untimed run, walk, or roll, where participants can choose to be a superhero or a villain. Superheroes can wear their favorite costume. On the other hand, villains are required to register in advance and wear all black.

Superheroes will be given a belt with three flags to wear during the event. Villains will hide among the course and try to take the flags. Heroes have the task of trying to finish the event with as many flags as possible.

Participants can choose between a 3.7-mile route or the shorter 1.5-mile course. There will also be a half mile ‘Superhero-in-Training’ fun run. Proceeds from donations raised will go to help adults with disabilities. Flyer printing is one way event organizers can promote the fun run.

At the finish lines, participants will be given a goodie bag. After the race, there will be refreshments and an awards ceremony. Those who win the costume contest will be given a ribbon.

It all takes place on May 9 at The University of Wisconsin-Rock County, located on 2909 Kellogg Avenue. Registration starts at 7:30 am and the fun run begins at 9:00 am with the kids’ run following at 9:20 am.
