The 2020 Chili Open Scramble is coming to Janesville in early November.
Teams in the four-person 18-hole golf scramble must bring a pot of chili. The best chili will be decided after the round of golf and the team with the winning chili will get a quarter of the cash prize pot.
Each team member will receive a raffle ticket and there will be a drawing for a 2021 Walking Membership after play. A fifth of the field of golfers will receive prizes that will consist of half shop credit and half cash.
People like to support events such as this so they can send pictures taken of themselves with their prizes to local Print shops to become part of their businesses’ advertising.
Registration will be $30 for club members and $60 for non-members. Golfers bringing $12 Gift Certificates, or certificates for turkeys weight 8lb or more, will get a stroke per certificate off their scores. Those bringing four certificates will begin the round on -4.
ECHO (Emergency Children’s Help Organization), a nonprofit that provides financial help for families and children facing major medical or living crises, will receive the certificates.
Entry deadline will be Friday, October 31, and the Chili Open Scramble will take place November 1 at Glen Erin Golf Club, 1417 W Airport Road, starting at 10:00 am.
