Janesville will be holding its 1st annual Zombie Run and First Annual Monster Mash Bash toward the end of October.
Geared more to local children the Bash will feature a dance party, magic show, and a costume parade.
The Monster Bash will take place at the Venue, 37 S. Water Street from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on October 26th.
Older Halloween revelers are encouraged to don their spookiest zombie costumes and head over to the Zombie Run for the costume contest, and prizes will go to best female and male adults, female and male child and best group. Zombies will be available for photo opportunities, and Second Salem Brewing Company will have a beverage tent. Music will be provided by DJ Lalo.
Registration for the Zombie 5k and the 1-mile walk will be $45 each for adults, $50 one event day, and $25 for kids 18 years old and younger. Parking will be free. T-shirts sporting this year's zombie graphic designs will be included in race packets.
Volunteers are needed to set up and tear down the event, be zombie characters that will jump out at runners while they run the course, coordinate the zombie characters, monitor the route, and hand out finisher medals at the finish line.
The Downtown Janesville Zombie Run is slated for Saturday, October 26th at Town Square on Downtown Janesville Festival Street, 69 S, River Street from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Start time for the 5k and the one mile will be 5:30 pm.
