Cycling tour comes to Janesville

Janesville's Town Square will be the start and finish line for The Janesville Town Square Gran Prix coming in mid-June.

Tour of America's Dairyland, the United States biggest multi-day cycling series, will visit 11 cities in 11 consecutive days. Its first stop will be here in Janesville Town Square. The course will be a criterium race, which means the course will be closed and distance is counted by laps completed for specific times such as 40 minutes and 90 minutes. The Janesville course is 0.68 miles. The course will begin at the intersection of Franklin St and Milwaukee Street. It will go to Jackson Street, turn left onto Court Street, turn left again onto S Water Street, and return to the finish on Milwaukee.

The first race will begin at 10:35 am with the 30-minute Paracycle Men and Women's C1-5. Other 30-minute races will be the Novice Men and Women races and the Handcycle Mixed Relay. The 40-minute races will be the Category 3/4 Men and Women. The 50-min races will be the Masters 50+ Category 1/2/3 and Masters 60+ Category 1/2/3. A community hour will run from 6:15 pm to 7:00 pm with the 75-minute Pro/1 Women and Category 2 Women races before, and the Pro/1 Men and Category 2 Men races after.

Merchandise featuring the event's Logo Design patch is available on the American's Dairyland website.
