Baseball and softball association hosts golf scramble

The Janesville Youth Baseball and Softball Association (JYBSA) will be hosting its 23rd Annual Phil McQuade Memorial Golf Scramble in early May.

A full 18 holes of golf, contests, prizes, dinner, and awards are included in the $125 and $500 foursome registration fees. Discounts of $25 will be given to current JYBSA coaches.

Three sponsorship levels – $100 Hole, $1,000 Golf Cart, and $1,500 Dinner – will offer the sponsor’s name and Logo Design on the designated places. Sponsors at the $1,500 level need to get their logo design to the event organizers before the dinner banner printing gets done.

On event day, check-in will be from noon until 1:00 pm with the shotgun start at 1:00 pm. Players will be in foursomes competing in a scramble format in which the team chooses the best tee shot to the last putt.

All proceeds will go to the Janesville Youth Baseball and Softball Association. Since its inception, the event has raised over $100,000, which has been used to build eight new lighted fields, walkways, restrooms, and concession stands at the Janesville Youth Sports Complex.

The organizers are asking those not participating in the golf outing to consider donating silent auction items, raffle prizes, or monetary donations. All raffle and silent auction donors will receive recognition at the dinner.

The event will take place Saturday, May 7 at the Janesville Country Club, 2615 W. Memorial Drive.
