Janesville will be welcoming the Annual Art Infusion again in early September.
This event will be bringing artistic experiences to the Janesville community, with a chalk art competition and guest artists drawing murals. Kids from the ages of 10 and up, along with adults, are invited to become chalk artists and either draw for fun or enter the chalk art competition.
Everyone is invited to view the drawings and talk to the artists. Admission for spectators will be free.
Those interested in participating may register at 20 S. Main Street Ste 11 from Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Janesville CVB Office, or online until September 6. To register after that date, artists must go to the office between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on September 7 or from 9:00 am to noon on September 8. Registration for the chalk competition will be $15 and supplies and chalk pastels will be provided.
At 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, the art will be judged, and awards will be announced at Firehouse Park at 3:30 pm. Winners of outdoor chalk competitions like this often get pictures taken of their entries before the drawings get worn or washed away. Often, they take the photos to local Print shops for duplicates for family and friends.
This year's Art Infusion will be in downtown Janesville, September 6 through 8 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
