“Places to Love,” Hosted by Samantha Brown, takes its viewers to locations all over the world. Madison resident Lalita Sankaran never misses an episode and now she gets to see her own daughter get featured on the show. Lalita’s daughter, Shilpa, runs a wellness spa in Madison, Kosa Spa. The spa will feature in the show’s Madison episode and Lalita was on set when they were filming, which means that there is a good chance she could perform a cameo on the show. When asked about her opportunity to be on television, Shilpa said:
“I was completely surprised and pleased that this opportunity came along at this particular time. It was fun, because my mother is a critical inspiration behind what we do and the traditions that we practice at the spa.”
Kosa Spa is located at Garver Feed Mill. One segment of the half-hour episode shows Samantha’s first time visiting a Wisconsin supper club, her first attempt at curling, and her tour of the indigenous effigy mounds located that the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s campus.
The episode was filmed in March 2022, and will air on Friday, January 20 on PBS Wisconsin Crate, so residents of nearby Fitchburg will no doubt want to tune in.
