Fitchburg puzzle competition takes center stage

A competitive puzzling event will bring teamwork against the clock to Delta Beer Lab this March. The match will include pairs testing their skills against a demanding jigsaw challenge.

Organized by Wisconsin-based puzzling host Sarah Does Puzzles, teams of two will work simultaneously on identical 500-piece jigsaw sets. Once the timer starts, pairs open their packages and begin assembling. An event judge will track the progress and completion times. Awards will be presented to the fastest finishers, along with additional door prizes.

The schedule includes an informal warm-up hour before the timed portion begins. During this early window, attendees may practice with sample puzzles while enjoying beverages from the venue. Once the competition starts, participants may eat or drink at their tables and use accessories such as sorting trays, box-top stands, or battery-powered lights, provided they do not disrupt other teams.

Entry costs $40 per pair. With a $4.52 service charge and $2.45 in sales tax, the total registration amount is $46.97. Refunds are not available, though organizers will coordinate puzzle pickup for teams unable to attend.

Events like this usually involve the use of brochure printing to provide participants with information about competition rules.

The contest will take place on Thursday, March 5 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Delta Beer Lab, 167 East Badger Rd, Fitchburg.
