Community members in Wisconsin will gather this summer for a fundraising walk aimed at supporting individuals affected by inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
The Take Steps Madison 2026 event, organized by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, will combine advocacy, family activities, and public outreach.
Participants of all ages are invited to join the approximately 1.5-mile route, which organizers describe as accessible for families and casual walkers. Friendly dogs on leashes are permitted during the event. The program will begin with morning registration, followed by a ceremonial presentation recognizing patients, caregivers, and supporters before the walk officially begins.
Event activities will include educational resource stations, interactive areas for children, dedication displays, and community gathering spaces highlighting experiences connected to inflammatory bowel disease.
Attendees will have opportunities to participate in symbolic ribbon activities and explore exhibits focused on support networks and treatment progress. Additional areas will recognize fundraising participants and provide spaces for photographs and family engagement throughout the day.
Admission to the event is free, and parking will be available near the park shelter and playground areas. Organizers of nonprofit walks and public awareness campaigns such as this often rely on poster printing to promote participation.
Take Steps Madison 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at McKee Farms Park, 2930 Chapel Valley Road in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Check-in opens at 9 am, the ribbon ceremony begins at 10 am, and the walk is expected to start shortly after at approximately 10:15 am.
