The Birdie Derby will return to Fitchburg this November with 5K and 10K races, a walking division, team categories, and a children’s dash.
This Thanksgiving event will also offer virtual participation for people unable to attend in person.
Individual and team registration costs $39 for the 5K run, 10K run, or untimed 5K walk. Virtual individual and team entries are also $39. Children ages two through six may enter the 100-yard dash at no charge when connected to a paid adult entry.
Race registration includes a bib, long-sleeve shirt, or lightweight technical hoodie, knit hat, snacks, chocolate milk, water, banana, chocolate, complimentary coffee and hot cocoa, professional timing, and race photographs. Virtual entrants receive the shirt or hoodie and winter hat but are not eligible for awards.
Packet pickup will be available on November 24 from noon to 7:00 pm and November 25 from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm at Hatchery Hill Town Center. Race-day pickup begins at 7:00 am. The children’s dash starts at 8:00 am, followed by the 10K at 8:30 am, 5K run at 8:50 am and walk at 9:00 am.
Proceeds support Active Youth Wisconsin, which helps children access athletic equipment, lessons, and activity programs. Community races such as this often use poster printing to publicize schedules, registration deadlines, and charitable beneficiaries.
The Birdie Derby is scheduled for Thursday, November 26 at 5200 E. Cheryl Parkway in Fitchburg.
