Puzzle contest challenges Fitchburg teams

Sarah Does Puzzles will host a paired speed-puzzling competition in Fitchburg this November.

The event will challenge two-person teams to complete identical 500-piece jigsaw puzzles as quickly as possible. The event targets experienced puzzlers seeking a tougher format than smaller-piece contests.

Each team will receive a concealed puzzle that remains unseen until the official countdown. A judge will supervise and record completion times. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest pair and additional door prizes will be distributed during the evening. Every team may take their competition puzzle home afterward.

Participants may use sorting trays, box-top stands and battery-powered lighting that does not disrupt neighboring tables. Food and beverages are permitted during play, while interference with competing teams is prohibited. An optional warm-up from 6 pm to 7 pm will feature practice puzzles before the timed contest. Competitors who finish early may leave or remain to work on other puzzles and purchase drinks.

Entry costs $40 for one pair. A $4.52 service charge and $2.45 in sales tax will be added, bringing the total to $46.97 for up to two participants. Purchases are nonrefundable, although teams unable to attend may arrange to collect their puzzle. Parking is complimentary.

Organizers of recreational competitions often use banner printing to identify check-in areas and activity zones.

The contest is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th from 6 pm to 9 pm at Delta Beer Lab, 167 East Badger Road in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.
