Inventive-minded young people in Fitchburg should note that Alliant Energy is seeking entries for its 2024 Innovation Scholarships.
A total of 25 students from Wisconsin and Iowa will be given $1,000 in scholarships that will assist them in advancing their education.
A press release from Alliant Energy states that participants will submit an essay identifying an issue in their local community and present their own inventive solution based on science, engineering, technology, and/or mathematics. Scholarship candidates will be chosen based on the content of their essay, volunteer work, leadership experience, community service, and overall grade point average.
In order to be eligible, applicants have to be registered for their first full-time degree at an undergraduate college in a Wisconsin location. They must also be under the age of 25 and either a dependent of an existing Alliant Energy customer, or a customer of Alliant themselves. Companies that send out bills tend to have their Logo Design feature on the document when it is printed.
Students can apply online to be considered for the Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship Program. The deadline for submissions is February 15.
Along with Innovation Scholarships, Alliant Energy's partner institutions provide a variety of scholarship programs designed to encourage students to explore professions in the energy business. Alliant Energy awarded scholarships to more than 100 students in 2023. These donations, worth over $136,500 in total, helped with tuition and student debt.
