Madison organization to celebrate milestone anniversary

TEMPO Madison will be celebrating 40 years of bringing executive and professional women together with a special gala.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Judy Woodruff, who is the managing editor of PBS NewsHour and also the sole anchor. She has been covering primarily political news for more than 40 years on several networks, including PBS, CNN, and NBC. In 2013, Woodruff teamed up with Gwen Ifill to become the first pair of women to co-anchor broadcasts on the national news. Since Ifill’s death in 2016, Woodruff has been the only anchor on NewsHour.

Funds raised from this event will be donated to charitable causes geared toward giving women from different backgrounds the opportunity to succeed at the community’s highest professional levels. Some of the funds will also go towards needs-based scholarship programs for Dane County’s young women. Many foundations are happy to accept Corporate Gifts and donations.

TEMPO Madison’s 40th Anniversary Gala will be hosted at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center on 1 John Nolen Drive in Madison, just a few miles from Fitchburg. Registration and cocktail hour is from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, guests will sit down for dinner at 6:30 pm, and the main program is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tickets are on sale for $115 per person and dinner is included in the ticket price. The last day for refunds is September 23.
