Fitchburg offers hands-on construction activities

The educational event Kids Building Wisconsin will take place this May in Fitchburg.

This free event is open to all ages and will provide children with a chance to explore hands-on activities, engage with industry professionals, and learn about the world of building and engineering.

With more than 50 interactive displays, Kids Building Wisconsin will showcase various aspects of construction, from regional trades to innovations. Attendees will have the chance to interact with large construction machinery, explore trade-related exhibits, and take part in demonstrations designed to spark interest in careers related to building and design. Organizers emphasize safety while allowing children to experience real-world construction scenarios in an engaging setting.

While admission is free, pre-registration is encouraged to streamline entry. Each attendee, including children, must be registered. Onsite registration will also be available through Eventbrite. Drinks and food will be available for purchase from local vendors.

Parking will not be provided at the event site. Shuttle services will operate every 10 to 15 minutes from designated parking locations, including CDW, Tri-North Builders, Gordon Flesch, and Fitchburg City Hall. Attendees are encouraged to bring a printed or digital ticket on the Eventbrite app for quicker entry.

Print shops may be employed to create instructional materials for events such as this one.

Kids Building Wisconsin will take place on Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at McKee Farms Park, 2930 Chapel Valley Rd, Fitchburg.
