Single-day pottery workshop to be held in June

An opportunity to try out pottery is coming up next month with a workshop taking place at the Enlightened Living Center in Burlington.

Attendees will have the opportunity to design and create a tray or make up to five garden stick Signs that can be used as plant markers, or for inspirational sayings. No prior skills or knowledge of pottery are required to take part.

There is a minimum participation of four individuals, and the maximum number will be 12, so small groups of friends are encouraged to sign up. The cost of the workshop is $40 per person. Small limited events are often best advertised with the help of a flyer printing service.

Stoneware clay will be used to create a one-of-a-kind pottery piece. Those deciding to make a tray are encouraged to bring along an heirloom doily to create the tray’s design. Wet clay processes will be finished during the class and participants will be asked to select a glaze color before they leave. The finished piece will be twice fired after the workshop has finished and pieces will be available three weeks later for pickup.

The Enlightened Living Center is located on 125 East State Street, and the workshop will take place on June 19 between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm. Tickets are available here.
