Racine Library hosts new programs

The Racine Public Library will be keeping the people of Burlington entertained with a several future and ongoing programs over the coming months.

Some of these events require library cards, which can be printed with Stationery printers.

Internet-related services and access to the library’s computers, printers, and fax machines are available for 30 minutes at a time to people who have library cards from Monday to Friday, 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Also, the Lakeshores Library System is sponsoring an online tutoring service called Brainfuse. People with library cards can take practice tests and use writing labs with round-the-clock chat support.

‘Why Do We Call it That?’ is a program that takes a look at popular locations such as Lake Como and Bigfoot Lake and explains why these places have such peculiar names. This virtual event is scheduled for next Tuesday, October at 6:00 pm on Zoom.

First Chapter Fridays: Youth Service Librarians will be hosting this event to encourage young readers to keep reading. They will be sharing the first chapters from some of their favorite Young Adult novels. A new story will be featured every week. It will be on social media, and the first session a week tomorrow, October 9, at 1:00 pm.

Finally, for those looking to declutter, a tent will be located at Lake Avenue for book pickups. This service is available from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. On arrival, book donors are asked to call 262.636.9217.
