Mansion tops last years most expensive home sale

A mansion located on the shores of Lake Geneva has just been sold for $6.75m.

Called Black Point Manor, the mansion is built on a site of such historic significance that part of it is a museum. Ownership is now in the hands of a Chicago-based businessman who has been hoping to buy it for three years. The businessman, Vaughn Moore, now hopes to use the property as a holiday home.

The home has 10,000 square feet of floor space and it was constructed in 2002. It has 20 rooms that feature panoramic views of the lot. The property has its own private lagoon and 400 feet of lakefront.

The $6.75 million paid for Black Point Manor is higher than last year’s highest local home sale, which was $5.1 million. The deal for Black Point Manor closed in June and the sale is giving realtors in nearby towns such as Burlington hope that this sale is a sign that the market is picking back up. Poster printing is often used to advertise homes that are for sale.

The house is located on land that was once owned by Conrad Seipp. He was a beer baron from the 1800s who owned a lot of lakefront land. Seipp’s family home is located nearby and it is revered as one of the area’s architectural wonders.
