A gas station on the east side of Lake Geneva is set to be torn down, with a new one to be introduced in its place.
Run by Evergreen BP LLC, the gas station in question is located at 300 Peller Road, a road that can be used when traveling to Lake Geneva from Burlington. The gas station is home to a car wash and a fast-food restaurant.
The goal of the new development is to build the space for a new convenience store, as well as to expand the fueling canopy. Two tenants will be included in the new building and they will be located on the part of the structure where the car wash currently sits. Graphic design could be used to illustrate what the developers have in mind.
The Lake Geneva Planning Commission unanimously voted in favor of the developer’s plan at a meeting held on October 19. The Lake Geneva City Council has yet to review and approve the plan. A public hearing was held for the public to voice any concerns over the development, but no objections were raised.
The planning commission did however have a few questions to ask about the project. Joseph Zimmer, for example, raised the question of whether a sidewalk should be installed considering that there are no other sidewalks in the surrounding area. Zimmer also asked if the sidewalk could be built without taking down any trees.
