The Executive Director Life Leif Erickson explained:
“At Flight For Life, our goal is to reduce the time frame for patients to arrive at tertiary care centers to receive the appropriate care needed across southeastern Wisconsin.”
It is expected that patient outcomes will overall improve as a result of the new base. Among the communities that will benefit are Walworth, Racine, and Kenosha counties.
Burlington Mayor Jeannie Hefty pointed out that population and business growth will be positively affected by the additional base, as both new residents and companies looking to relocate take into account the public safety offerings of a community.
The quality of public safety available in a community is a selling point chambers of commerce and realtors frequently ask Print shops to include in their marketing materials.
Since 1984, Flight For Life has provided care to Southeastern Wisconsin, during which it has transported 38,000 of the area’s emergency patients.
Flight For Life expects to commence operation at Burlington Municipal Airport towards the end of this month. Securing a permanent hangar is a work in progress; until one is obtained, a temporary hangar will be used by the emergency response team.
