While the winter holiday season may be well in the future, the organizers of a popular Burlington event are already planning a special celebration.
The city will be hosting its 42nd annual Christmas Parade, and this year's theme is “It’s a Wonderful Life in Burlington.” It has been scheduled for early December, and it will follow its usual route.
The parade will be followed by the community’s official tree lighting in Wehmhoff Square Park. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for the occasion, and carollers, cookies, and hot chocolate, along with music, will round out the festivities.
The organizers have invited local business and not-for-profit groups to join in the fun by making a parade entry. There are also sponsorship and volunteer programs in place. The final date to register a parade entry is November 15. The organizers can be contacted by phone at 262-763-6044.
