The Racine factory is one of eight the Manchester, New Hampshire company has worldwide, and could provide a job boost in nearby Burlington.
According to company officials the expansion will turn the Racine plant into its largest facility and it may be the first of a trio of expansions taking place at the location during the next 10-15 years.
Print shops can instrumental in helping with employee handbooks revisions.
In talking to the Racine Journal Times, Scott Gilroy, Vice President of Operations at Summit, made the following statement:
“For Summit, Racine has been a wonderful home. We’ve been there for over 30 years now, and as you can see, it has been a record of steady growth, and we hope to do the same thing for the next 30 years.”
Word from the Racine Economic Development Corp. is that a proposed agreement between the city and the company will provide for the sharing of increased property tax revenue generated by the site with Summit:
“…on a pay-as-you-go basis for a period of 10 years.”
Reportedly, the company is considering starting apprenticeship programs in toolmaking and injection molding in conjunction with an area technical college.
The expansion is expected to start in early spring and last approximately a year.
