An apartment renovation in Burlington has proven to be so much of a success that it was chosen to be the recipient of several awards.
The Riverview Manor apartment complex was selected by the Wisconsin Council for Affordable and Rural Housing to receive its annual Property of the Year award, as well as its Site Manager of the Year and the Maintenance Person of the Year prizes.
In September, the property’s site manager Eileen Olson and several of the complex’s tenants nominated the property, and an announcement was made at the council’s convention, which was held in Wisconsin Dells.
Olson was presented with the Site Manager award, and Victor Rubach, who is the maintenance employee at the apartments, was recognized as the Maintenance Person of the Year.
The building was recently renovated with the help of a $1.48m loan acquired through the USDA Rural development department. Each of the 92 units was upgraded, 60 were outfitted with new fridges, and 50 received new stoves. New flooring was also added, and 14 of the apartments were made more handicap accessible. According to Olson, many of the people who live in Riverview Manor were happy to nominate it for the recognition, and of these, there were plenty who nominated all three of the parties to win.
