Teens, and even younger children, can be prone to developing depression, and a Burlington workshop will offer parents, teachers, and others who work with youngsters a chance to learn more about this mental health issue.
Dr. David Taylor and Dr. Mervin Langley will be joining together to host the session, which will explore the topic of depression, how to recognize its symptoms, and where to go for help. They will provide practical tips that can be used by almost anyone, and there will be time for the audience to ask any questions they might have.
The two-hour event will provide insight into some of the root causes of depression, as well as its symptoms and treatments. The attendees will discover ways they can provide support, what sorts of interventions currently exist, and also how they can equip a child with coping mechanisms and other skills that can be helpful in preventing this mental illness from developing. It is being offered free of charge, and anyone who feels it may be helpful to them is encouraged to attend.
Burlington’s Aurora Wellness Center will be the location for this workshop, and it is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm. The planners of a function like this can count on local Print shops to provide them with Copies of any handouts or other materials to be distributed during the event.
