The cold days of January can be a great time to warm up with a hot bowl of soup, and a Burlington area fundraiser will include a friendly competition for local home chefs.
The team at Woof Gang Rescue of Racine provides a refuge for dogs in need of a second chance, and it will be the recipient of proceeds of the Ladles of Love Soup Cook-Off next weekend. It is being sponsored by The Royal Canine Self Service Dog Wash and Archives Bar and Grill, and this will be its first year.
Those who would like to join the fun can register to enter a homemade soup, and the competitors are asked to supply any garnishes. They will need to provide at least five quarts, and they are asked to indicate whether or not their recipe is gluten free. The entry fee is $10 each. Winners will be determined by the tasters (who are members of the general public) and prizes will be presented.
Creating a fundraiser that is outside the box can help to ensure it will attract attention. A poster printing companies can prepare a variety of marketing materials, as well as special custom-designed prizes and other personalized items.
The first Ladles of Love Soup Cook-Off fundraiser will be held at 356 North Pine Street in Burlington next Sunday, January 14.
