The Kiwanis Club of Burlington is inviting all those in the local area to come out and bid a warm welcome to spring.
The club will be hosting a five-kilometer Shamrock Shuffle run or walk. People of all ages are urged to participate. As they follow the course, they will pass through bright bursts of color, and by the end of the route, they will be as colorful as the flowers of spring.
Since the race is all in fun, people’s times for completing the course will not be measured. It will take place no matter what the weather is, and since those who participate will end up covered in festive colors, they are advised to dress accordingly. All ages, from babies in strollers up to seniors, and those who use a wheelchair are invited to join in the fun.
The event is scheduled for March 12. Registration can be completed online or through the mail. Up until March 1, the cost for adult registration is $20, and for youth ages 12 and under it is $15, with the cost going up by $5 each after that. Information packets can be picked up before the race on March 11 at the Port of Burlington Welcome Center. Items such as these can be printed and compiled by a Print company.
More information about the Shamrock Shuffle is available on the event’s website.
