An unexpected passenger recently hitched a ride in Burlington, and a local not-for-profit group is trying to help her get back home.
Someone dropped off a brown couch for donation at Love, Inc., and when employees began to inspect it so it could be put out for sale, they found a surprise inside.
A black and white cat was found in the couch. According to the staff, she seems friendly and very affectionate, and they are worried that someone may have accidentally dropped off their pet when they left the couch.
The friendly feline is currently being housed at the Love, Inc. furniture store office. The staff is hoping that either the owner or someone who knows where the cat belongs will get in touch with them so she can go back to her loving home.
Anyone with any information is asked to call (262) 763-2743. Flyers can also be posted throughout the area that let the public know that the cat has been found and what to do to get her back.
Love, Inc. is a local charitable organization dedicated to helping those in need throughout the community.
