Burlington parents who would like to learn how they can become more effective in their role in raising resilient children may wish to save the date for a local workshop.
Lori Radtke, who is one of the Burlington Area School District’s social workers, will be conducting a series of three workshops that will address a variety of parenting topics. Those who are interested can choose to attend the ones that are of interest to them, or are welcome to participate in all three.
The first workshop will focus on positive parenting and how it can help to increase desired behaviors in their child while reducing the negative ones. The topic of the second will be how to raise a child who is both competent and confident, while the third will explore ways a parent can give their children tools to be more resilient when facing challenges in their lives. Stationery printers will be able to supply Copies of handouts and any other materials that will be distributed during an event like this.
Each of the sessions is being offered for free, and they will be held in the gym of Burlington’s Walker Elementary School. The workshops are scheduled to begin on April 11, with the subsequent sessions planned for April 25 and May 2. They will all begin at 6:00 pm and run for one and a half hours.
