A Burlington coffee shop has become so successful that it has outgrown its current space and needs to grow. Thanks to some news from the Wisconsin Economic Development Council, it will soon be able to do just that.
Built two years ago, the Coffee House at Chestnut and Pine Streets has since become a popular community gathering space, and has been approved for a $205,000 expansion grant from the WEDC. It will be used to purchase a building at 489 North Pine Street, and also to upgrade the kitchen, install an elevator, improve the building’s façade, and upgrade the sprinkler system.
The owners plan to introduce more freshly baked items, as well as expanding their sandwich, flat bread, and small plate offerings to customers. The elevator will make the top level of the building accessible to all, which open it up for use for larger events and private functions, such as birthday parties and dinners.
The current coffee house holds weekly concerts, as well as an open mic night and a summer music festival. It also showcases works of art and photography by local artists. All ages are welcome.
