Burlington area class to craft new crop of basket weavers

The participants in an upcoming Burlington area workshop will be learning how to prepare their own basket by hand.

Honey Creek Collective in East Troy will be teaching the basics of basket making by hosting a class this June, and it will utilize materials such as sweet grass and pine needles to craft some sweetly scented baskets. The class will run throughout the day, and lunch is included in the ticket price.

Facilitators will walk the participants through the steps of crafting their piece, and they will also be taught the basics of design. They will learn how to start and sew their project, and they will also discover how they can incorporate other materials. All experience levels are welcome, and everyone is asked to bring a small pair of scissors, reading glasses, and a thimble, with all other necessary supplies provided. Attendees will also walk away with enough grass and other items to allow them to start another basket.

A crafting class can teach a new hobby or skill in an enjoyable way. Handouts and other materials that may be helpful to the registrants can be prepared by Stationery printers.

The Honey Creek Collective in East Troy has planned this introduction to coiled baskets on Sunday, June 9th. It is set to be held at 8030 Townline Road.
