Packed week of events reaches its conclusion
Monday, July 7, saw the start of the annual Sauk County Fair in Baraboo, with folks from right here and far further afield heading to the festival of 'food, family and fun'. They still have an opportunity to take in some of the activities over the next couple of days.
Getting underway with the Junior Fair followed by the Cat Show, Tuesday then saw the Dog Show and the free Ladies Night Out event. There was also a local truck pull for everyone to take part in, just by the Grandstand at the fairgrounds.
The real carnival atmosphere got started on Wednesday, with the official opening taking place at 4:00 p.m. As well as a Milk Tent offering free recipes, the Food Stand hosted Lamb Sandwich Day, with a host of tempting flavors.
Thursday saw the Swine Judging take place in the Small Animal Arena, the Poultry Judging at Poultry Barn, and the Beef Sandwich Day. With so much going on and with the events so well attended, any poster printing the exhibitors had invested in was clearly working.
The fair continues today and over the weekend, with a packed program for everyone heading along.
Highlights of today include a dairy cattle display and judging, a ‘Taste of Sauk County’ event, and the carnival presentations.
The fun continues on Saturday and Sunday with the concert by Chris Cagle, Josh Thompson, and The Lost Trailers likely to steal the show.
