Baraboo workshop teaches gardening for the old and young

Gardening is an activity that can be enjoyed by any age, and a Baraboo workshop will offer a horticultural adventure to bring the generations together.

Langer Park will be the location for an event specifically grandparents and their grandkids to “dig in,” and the organizers hope it will be a fun way for the kids to learn some of the basics of gardening.

The facilitator for the activity will guide each of the dynamic duos through the steps of creating their own mini garden. They will decorate a pot, and they will then add the soil and plant the seeds supplied. At the end of the hour, they can take their project with them. Kids of any age may enjoy the session, and all of the materials needed will be provided.

A hands-on gardening workshop can be a real memory maker of time spent between grandparents and grandkids. Sheets of plant care tips, promotional Pens, and other materials for a class or other session can be crafted by area Print shops.

The registration fee is $10 per child, and the event may need to be cancelled in case of inclement weather.

Baraboo grandparents are encouraged to register themselves and their grandchildren for this hands-on planting class scheduled for Tuesday, March 31. It will begin at 1:00 pm.
