Former student heads gymnastics team

An alumnus of Baraboo High School will be taking over as the head of the school’s gymnastics team.

Hayley Brooks graduated from Baraboo High in 2015. She will become the gymnastics programs’ fourth head coach in as many years, and would like for the Baraboo Thundercats to have as good an experience as she did. Brooks also said to Wiscnews.com:

“The most memorable aspects of my time in Baraboo gymnastics completely revolved around the close bond I had with my teammates and coaches. I remember how hard we worked, but also how much fun we had.”

Brooks has experience coaching at Elite Gymnastics Academy. Her goal is to emulate the fun and competitive atmosphere she experienced there and make it work for Baraboo High.

Schools have now been given permission to return to practice and their first competitive meet is scheduled for December 14. This will be the first time that Brooks will have served as a T-Bird since she inspired Baraboo to take fifth position at the WIAA Division 2 Reedsburg section which was in February 2015. Many teams have a Logo Design of their mascots on their uniforms.

Two of her former coaches from high school will be helping her to transition into the role, and she feels it will be a natural process because she always planned to coach college or high school sports at some time in the future, although she admits that the call asking if she would be able to take up the mantle of head of the team took her by surprise.
