The project is called Discover Real Baraboo. The Logo Design that will appear on billboards, as well as the marketing campaign, took more than two years to be completed. Dave Dalke, the president of West Baraboo Village, stated that:
“This symbolizes a cooperation effort between the chamber, the city, the downtown groups and the village to create this brand that will be instantly recognizable.”
The groups that are a part of this initiative pooled together $2,500 for the marketing push. The money was used to hire The House United which is a marketing firm based in Milwaukee. They are credited with the Logo Design and giving the organizers a plan that can be used to make tourism in Baraboo look more attractive.
The organizers made it clear that they wanted the slogan and Signs for the project to be instantly recognizable. They want it to be a simple way of reminding people about all the great things Baraboo has to offer. According to the owner of Spa Serenity in downtown Baraboo, tailoring the marketing campaign took longer than it took to create the brand. The challenge was in creating a brand which represents all of the local businesses under one message.
The final push of the marketing campaign will feature widespread distribution of the logo along with billboard advertisements.
