What's Happening in Baraboo, WI…

Big Top Parade scheduled return to Baraboo

Now that its pandemic-induced hiatus is over, the Big Top Parade is ready to make its much-anticipated return.

Last held in all of its glory in 2019, the event was cancelled in 2020, while 2021 saw a circus celebration was held in Baraboo without the usual parade with floats and animals. This year, however, the parade has received the go-ahead, albeit a little earlier than when it has normally been held.

Events that necessitate the rerouting of traffic are often preceded for several weeks by signage supplied by a banner printing service.

Traditionally, The Big Top Parade has taken place in July, but since this year’s Sauk County Fair is scheduled for early July, the parade will be held in late June to avoid a scheduling conflict. Two days prior to the parade, Professor Stitch’s Original Circus Band will hold a concert on the Sauk County Courthouse lawn as a contribution to the Concerts on the Square series.

This year’s parade will be the eighth where elephants will walk downtown streets while clowns entertain the crowds along the parade route. Highlighting the significant history Ringling Brothers has had with this area will be a number of historic parade floats. The parade will be followed by live entertainment.
