What's Happening in Baraboo, WI…

Baraboo walk supports animals in need

This May, residents of Baraboo and the surrounding area are asked to slide on their sneakers and hit the road in support of community members in need of a helping paw.

Baraboo’s River Walk will soon be welcoming the annual PAWS Pledge Walk, which will raise money for the Sauk County Humane Society. There are one- and three-mile options on the agenda, both of which will start and wind up at the Maxwell Potter Conservancy/Baraboo Dog Park.

Walkers are welcome to bring their dog or another pet to walk with them, or can take part alone. They are asked to collect pledges individually or as a team, and prizes will be presented to those who collect the most. The attendees will be supporting rescue services for companion and wild animals, as well as low-cost healthcare clinics, emergency boarding, animal education, and advocacy.

To thank the public for their support, the organizer of the walk will be distributing T-shirts to those who register by next Friday, April 11. If corporate gifts for an activity are printed with an organization's branding, they can serve as promotional products for the cause.

The 2025 PAWS Pledge Walk for Animals will provide a “purr-fectly” fun morning for Baraboo's animal lovers on Saturday, May 3. Its web listing provides a registration link for the event.
