Baraboo pop up to host future business leaders
Baraboo kids who have been bitten by the small business bug may want to be part of a pop up market that will put some money in their pocket while teaching them some useful skills.
The city’s Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department has organized a rummage sale that will be both run and manned by area kids. Youth from the ages 5 to17 are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity, and they can keep the profits for themselves.
With the support from their parents or guardians, the young people can sit up and man their table, and toys, sports equipment and games are just some of what they can offer for sale. The goal is to teach them how to interact with the public in a business setting, and while the adults will provide supervision, they are encouraged to allow their child to take on most of the responsibility. Both residents and non-residents can reserve a space.
A rummage or tag sale can give kids a fun way to get their feet wet when it comes to running a small business. Marketing materials may help to attract even more attention to an event, and they can be prepared by a local poster printing company.
The Baraboo Civic Center will host this activity for the area's future business leaders on November 4th. It will be open to shoppers from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.
