The local Lions Club has brought its ‘Strides Against Diabetes’ fundraising walk back for its 7th year, and it is looking to the community to help make it a success.
The 5K race and fun run will be held on an early June evening. Its stated goals are to raise both money and awareness, and the funds raised will be used by the Lions Club to fund both its diabetes and eye related initiatives.
The participants will follow a course near Devil’s Lake, and the terrain will be a mix of hills and flat sections. There will be water and other refreshment stations and washrooms on site, and the event will be held rain or shine. A registration table will be set up on race day, and those who have signed up are asked to bring along a printed copy of their ticket to show at check in.
One of the goals of an event like this is to raise awareness. Signage, race bibs, an eye-catching banner, Brochures, and T-shirts can all help to spread the word about diabetes, and these can be produced by a printer that offers promotional product design and printing services.
The starting point for the race and fun run will be located at E11614 Tranquility Lane. The date for this community activity will be June 6.
