Whooping and sandhill cranes are two species of large wading birds found in North America, and an upcoming Baraboo event will help to secure their future.
The International Crane Foundation recently issued a virtual invitation to the local community to attend its annuals signature fundraising evening. Dubbed “An Evening with the Cranes,” it will be held at the organization's headquarters, and the planners can be contacted by calling 608-356-9462.
Guests at the function will be treated to a selection of menu items as well as beer wine and an assortment of soft drinks. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to meet the guests, answer questions and share stories about cranes and their survival. The function will have an intentional focus, and one of its draws will be an opportunity to purchase gear printed with a special graphic design.
Along with raising money, one of the goals of a group's signature events is often to raise awareness. A poster printing company can lend a hand by providing oversized photos and other items to use in displays that show how the funds raised will be put to work.
This annual evening of mixing and mingling that set up to ensure cranes are around for many years to come will be held on June 24. It will be kicking off at 5:00 pm.
