What's Happening in Baraboo, WI…

Baraboo boasts sensory-friendly egg hunt

Participating in an Easter Egg Hunt is a popular tradition for many families, and thanks to a Baraboo event, kids with sensory sensitivities will be able to join in the fun.

The Baraboo Children's Museum has set the date for its Sensory Friendly Egg Hunt, and each hunt will be tailored to suit the specific needs of the individual child. Registration will open in early April, and must be completed in advance.

The organizers of the evening have said there will be lowered levels of noise and light, and the atmosphere will be kept calm. If a child can be added to a group, the facilitators will do so, and each session will be limited to between 5 to 15 minutes, depending on their tolerance levels. There will be 12 eggs hidden for each participant to find, and parents or guardians must remain on site.

Parents or guardians who would like to supply an egg with a special toy or other gift may contact the organizers in advance to make arrangements. Small, budget-friendly promotional products can be ordered by activity organizers from local print shops.

This opportunity for kids with sensory processing issues to get in on some Easter fun will have Baraboo hopping on April 18. Spaces in the egg hunt can be reserved between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm.
