Spokane Valley plans community holiday events

The City of Spokane Valley, along with the Rotary Club of the Greater Spokane Valley, is planning several events that will take place over the holiday season.

The fun starts with the Celebration of Lights Tree Lighting, which will take place at Balfour Park. In addition to lighting the tree, people will enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, and a chance to say hello to Santa. A new event, a walking light parade, is on the schedule. People are invited to wear festive clothes that light up and follow Santa as he leads the way through the park.

The following day brings Breakfast with Santa, to be held at the CenterPlace Regional Event Center. Tickets are $7.50 and include games, crafts, a pancake breakfast, and a chance to meet Santa. Meals will be served at 8.00 am, 9.00 am, or 10.00 am.

The free Spokane Valley Winter Market will have vendors and local businesses with holiday goods and small gifts. Visitors will have a chance to have a photo taken with Santa for free, and enjoy children’s crafts, seasonal music, and a signature drink at a beer garden.

The Tree Lighting is set for December 6 at 6.00 pm, and Breakfast with Santa is December 7. The Wintr Market will be available two days December 14, from 10.000 am until 600pm, and December 15 from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm. When they plan a range of events like this, organizers may work with flyer printing to create handouts for community-wide distribution.
