Spokane Valley marches for a good cause

An upcoming march in Spokane Valley is designed to raise funds to support some of the most vulnerable citizens in the community.

Marching for Meals 2025 is a community event created by the Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels. The march is designed to support this program, which fights isolation and hunger among seniors. All proceeds will go to help provide fresh, nutritious food to community seniors.

Hundreds of people – including local businesses, walkers, and a live DJ – will join to share their resources, show support, and raise awareness of the importance of supporting seniors throughout Spokane Valley. Every 30 minutes during the event, raffles will be held and prizes awarded. In addition, awards will be given for the largest team, best dressed, most laps walked, and more. When they plan events like this, organizers can work with banner printing providers to create Signs to mark out the route.

March for Meals is part of the Meals on Wheels program. The organization chose March for this event because President Nixon signed an amendment to the Older Americans Act in March 1972. The amendment added a nutrition program to the original legislation.

Everyone who is thinking of joining is encouraged to bring neighbors, family members, and friends to come along. The March for Meals 2025 is set for March 7, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am, at the Spokane Valley Mall, located at 14700 East Indiana Avenue in Spokane Valley.
