Spokane Valley eye clinic under construction

A new eyecare clinic is now being built in Spokane Valley, thanks to BSHB Real Estate LLC, which recently filed building permits to construct the facility.

The clinic, which will be located at 1103 North Pines Road, offers 4,100 square feet of space. The facility will comprise a laboratory, frame room, a station for technicians, four rooms for examinations, offices for staff members, and a waiting area.

Eye Care Associates will be the clinic's tenant. The practice is based in Spokane Valley, and is presently housed on East Mission Avenue. Dr. Helena Boulieris founded Eye Care Associates in 2006, when she bought the practice from Dr. John Smith, who retired. She then renamed it.

The clinic's design is courtesy of Modern Design Architects, based in Iowa. The $750,000 project's contractor is J.R. Bonnett Engineering of neighboring Spokane.

The clinic offers a full range of services, including eye examinations, contact lenses, and cataract surgery. They prescribe eye glasses of all kinds, such as those with no-glare lenses, and those designed to reduce the eye strain that can result from working on digital devices. They also treat a number of conditions including macular degeneration, retinal detachment, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
